President Higgins Opening our Amazing School Library

Francis Street School were privileged to be able to welcome President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins and his wife, Sabina to our school in January 2018. The president was there to open the first ever dedicated school library in our school's history. The library was made possible by the support of our friends in A&L Goodbody who joined us on the day for the celebrations.

The day was a true celebration of song and word. The novelist, Joseph O'Connor read from his father, Seán O'Connor's autobiography, 'Growing Up So High'. Seán is a past-pupil of the school and remains a great friend to the students and staff of today.

The students gave the president and his wife the warmest of welcomes and the loudest of cheers. Michael D. Higgins' warmth and wisdom left our school with many lifetimes of memories and we cannot wait to welcome him back again.

Minister McHugh attends our End of Year Ceremony 2019

In June 2019 we were honoured to have Minister Joe McHugh T.D. attend our End of Year Ceremony. Minister McHugh’s warmth and friendliness and genuine interest in the school community and especially the parents and the pupils set the tone for the evening’s celebrations.

Guests were entertained by the musical talents from different groups in the school including our very own school band, ‘The Franners’ who performed under the stewardship of Kieran McGuinnness from BIMM music school and, of course, the world-renowned ‘Delorentos’.

Parents: Welcome
